Qatar Charity (QC), in co-operation with Qatar Academy Doha (QAD) of Qatar Foundation, distributed food baskets among 500 expatriate families affected by the Covid-19 pandemic. This was done with the participation of many QAD students and graduates.
Farid al-Siddiqi, head of the Local Projects section at QC, praised QAD for its efforts aimed at alleviating the suffering of families with limited income, especially in the month of Ramadan, the season of giving and multiplying rewards. He also applauded QAD’s annual project that seeks to get QAD’s students involved in community service and humanitarian work.

He thanked the QAD management and students for the co-operation, emphasising that Qatar Charity, since the outbreak of the coronavirus, has been working to contribute to limiting the humanitarian effects of the pandemic in collaboration with various bodies in the country. He noted that QC provided food, health and awareness-raising assistance for the benefit of low-income families and workers in Qatar.
Rola Abu Ramadan, an Arabic language teacher at QAD, thanked Qatar Charity, noting that QAD’s students have been carrying out this project for 16 years annually. She added that Qatar Charity always remains supportive of QAD’s charitable project. Abu Ramadan stressed the project seeks to achieve many goals such as instilling the value of helping others in students, urging them to participate in voluntary and community activities, and encouraging them to give and support those in need.
