The Ministry of Administrative Development, Labor and Social Affairs (MADLSA) has completed the 'Information Assets Classification' project, which implements the necessary security controls for hosted data protection following the best international standards and practices.

Director of Information Systems Department at the Ministry Eng. Muna Alfadhli explained that this step stems from the eagerness of the Ministry to achieve cybersecurity requirements, in compliance with the national strategy, and in preparation to keep pace with the acceleration of electronic procedural services, coinciding with Qatar hosting the FIFA World Cup 2022, as well as to ensure protection of personal data of the public.

She emphasized that MADLSA was one of the first authorities to implement a plan to complete the project for classifying its information assets based on the degree of sensitivity and applying the necessary security controls to protect hosted data within its services in accordance with the best international standards and practices.

For her part, the Director of the Information Assets Classification Project Eng. Eman Mohammed, noted the Ministry's endeavor to enhance and spread awareness about data protection management and how to prevent data leakage.

The project, she said, included awareness sessions for the Ministry's employees regarding how to deal with personal information and data and how to classify them according to the laws of the country. An awareness video was also published to enhance and raise the level of capacity on how to handle data, she added

Previously, MADLSA has worked to educate its members about the concept of "classification of information assets", through workshops and training courses provided by specialists in the field of information systems at the Ministry.
