Qatar Career Development Centre, a member of Qatar Foundation, has opened registration for the Facilitating Career Development (FCD) Training Programme, which qualifies participants to obtain accreditation recognised by the internationally-reputed National Career Development Association (NCDA).
The programme, specifically designed to reflect the Qatari ecosystem, teaches individuals the relevant skills and knowledge to enable them to assist others in their career planning process.
Delivered by NCDA-qualified trainers, the FCD Training Programme also provides participants with comprehensive and intensive tutoring in the principal areas of career development, and offers support in choosing a career path and entering an appropriate work scope.
Participants who have successfully completed the programme will be eligible to apply for the Career Services Provider Certification from NCDA, and the Global Career Development Facilitator Certification from the Centre for Credentialing & Education.
Abdulla al-Mansoori, QCDC, director, said: “Through this programme, we seek to train individuals specialised in providing career guidance services, to ensure that the young people in Qatar benefit from the best experiences that will help them choose the fields that suit their abilities and aspirations, thus providing the national economy with the potential capabilities of driving growth and prosperity in the future.”
Effrosyni Parampota and Paige M McDonough, both experts in career guidance and professional development at QCDC, will host the training in English virtually through MS Teams over three months from January 10, 2022, to April 25, 2022.
The intensive programme includes 160 training hours related to career development and features hands-on and interactive teaching methods suitable for a variety of work settings. To further hone their skills after the completion of the programme, FCD graduates will also be eligible to participate in QCDC’s Career Advisor Mentoring Programme, giving them the opportunity to gain practical experience in providing career guidance under the supervision of experienced practitioners.
All citizens and residents of Qatar, as well as the GCC and Middle East & North Africa countries, can participate in the FCD Training Programme. Career professionals of various levels of education and experience in the field of career development and others whose work involves providing career development information or skills to students, adults, clients, employees, or the public can also join the programme, as can those who wish to gain experience that enables them to enter the field of career development.
