For the first time in the Middle East and North Africa, the Congress of World Association of Sport Management (WASM) 2022 will be hosted by Qatar University (QU).
The fourth edition of the congress will be held from March 19 to 21, 2022, and include representatives from all continents, QU has said in a statement.
In the presence of WASM president Dr Karen Danylchuk and the presidents of the continental sports management associations, the West Asian Sports Management Association will join this federation during the session. Commenting on Qatar's hosting of this international scientific and sports event, Professor Ahmed al-Emadi, dean of the College of Education at QU, said: "This international conference is organised by Qatar University in co-operation with Hamad Bin Khalifa University and under the generous sponsorship of HE Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad al-Thani, President of the Olympic Committee. It is expected that more than 150 researchers in the field of sports management will participate in it, and its agenda includes huge number of seminars, workshops and research posters related to the topic of sports management.
"It is expected that a large number of those interested in sports affairs will participate in the conference, especially since it will be held before the 2022 World Cup in Qatar."
