HE the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz al-Thani chaired the Cabinet's regular meeting at the Amiri Diwan Wednesday. Following the meeting, HE the Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Mohamed bin Abdullah bin Mohamed al-Yousef al-Sulaiti issued the following statement:
At the outset of the meeting, the Cabinet was briefed by HE the Minister of Public Health on the latest developments in efforts to contain the spread of Covid-19, and affirmed the continuation of the precautionary measures underway to combat the pandemic.
The Cabinet then considered the topics listed on its agenda as follows:
First — It reviewed the recommendations of the Shura Council on the situation of Qatar University, and the university's statement, and took the appropriate decision in this regard.
Second — The approval of a draft decision of the Minister of Interior to amend security and safety measures and requirements of Law No 25 of 2015 regarding civil defence.
Third — The Cabinet took the necessary measures to ratify an agreement on the promotion and protection of mutual investments between the governments of Qatar and Kenya.
Fourth — The approval of a draft memorandum of understanding between the government of Qatar and the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) to manage Qatar-ICAO Developing Countries Scholarship Programme.
Fifth — The Cabinet reviewed a report on the official opening of Qatar's pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai, and took the appropriate decision in this regard.
