The Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) on Monday reiterated that the Qatar Vaccination Center – for Business and Industry Sector will open in Bu Garn on January 9 and administer Covid-19 vaccines to key business and industry workers.
The initiative follows a similar set up and operational model to the Qatar Vaccination Center – for Business and Industry Sector which was open in Doha’s Industrial Area from June to October 2021.

More than 700 healthcare professionals worked at the facility

The MoPH also issued a short video highlighting the significant role that the center played by administering more than 1.6mn first and second doses to key business and industry workers.
The mass vaccination centre for the business and industries sector was a joint effort between the public and private sectors in the face of the pandemic in Qatar, it is explained in the video.

Spanning 300,000sqm, it was one of the largest vaccination centres in the world. More than 700 healthcare professionals working 12 hour shifts, six days a week, administered 40,000 daily doses, exceeding the initial target of 25,000 doses a day, delivering 1.6mn doses between April and October of 2021.
The vaccination process was a 10 minute walkthrough. Patients would begin in the pre-vaccination area where they split into different colour coded zones, each holding up to 60 stations and 300 vaccination stations in total. After receiving their vaccine dose, the patients are directed to a post-vaccination area where their vitals are monitored before they leave.
"Thanks to the dedication of the exceptional Hamad Medical Corporation healthcare professionals and support staff, the mass vaccination centre helped protect the lives of many, fulfilling its mission to keep everyone safe in Qatar," the video concluded.
